Samuel and I are in Phoenix to visit Grandma and Grandpa and to celebrate Grandpa’s 80th birthday. We also are here to work with Uncle Steve to work on some projects that G&G have. The biggest of these was to raise the sunken living room in the new house that G&G moved into last July.
When Samuel and I arrived on Tuesday Uncle Steve had already started the project.
We had to have the project completed by Thursday at noon so that the carpet layers could come, no problem.
We first had to move out some large cabinets.
This one did not clear the beam by much, but with some extra tipping and lifting we got it up.
Slowly the floor came together.
Finally the last piece was nailed into place.
The workers smile as the project was completed in one day instead of the expected 2 1/2 days. This included a trip to Home Depot to get the 9 sheets of plywood.
The next day was putting the cabinets and home entertainment equipment back in place.
Tomorrow is carpet and then putting in plants out at G&G’s old house that is up for sale.
