Kawell update

I (Jesse) see that there is another long gap from the last post. Our frequent readers are probably used to that. (Sorry!). Well, here is an update. The weather has been a little angry at us. We had no noticeable rain for the entire later 2/3 of July, but now that rain has started to come through here over the past few weeks, it has become unbearably humid. I guess we just can't be happy. It is a great blessing to have a big pool through these hot Alabama summers. We haven't been doing anything big for the past few weeks. Too hot. As you saw in earlier posts, Tex the dog was here. His owners got home safely from their trip to Rome, and now he's back with them. Earlier this week I bought a Lego robot kit (Mindstorms NXT) and I've been working with it a lot. I will post pictures when I build a really nice robot. Some of you may know that I already had a robot kit (RIS 2.0), so now I can build some big robots with both kits.

I've really run out of stuff to say. We have been having a quiet summer. I sign off now. Hope everyone is having a good summer.

P.S.: For those more interested in our weather, you can click on the "Our Weather" sticker to the right, or scroll to the bottom of the page.

A puppy photo shoot!

The final picture!
I tried to get a "really cute photo of Tex for the Blog", but he had other plans! Ever tried to photograph a puppy?
Nice one of Jesse's legs though!
He was posing perfectly until I took the picture!
Yikes! A zombie!
Oooo, looks like everything went wrong with this one!

Tex and a new pond

I (Abigail) was so fascinated by Mama's new pond that I decided to make a mini one in my garden!

My new pond

Tex is back! We're keeping him again for eighteen days while his 'parents' are in Rome!
This is Bubba, one of my new Fantail goldfish in my pond!

Broken Bone

The day at the lake (below) was fun, but it ended on a sad note: as we got ready to leave, the boys started a game of basketball. Jack tried to jump for the ball, but tripped and fell, fracturing the growth plate area of his arm. This is at the end of the bone near his elbow! At first, we didn't know that it was broken because his arm was completely mobile, but Sunday it got steadily worse and Monday he went for x-rays and got a cast. The doctors don't think he needs surgery, but he'll be going back in a few days so that they can be sure. The cast will stay on for three to six weeks! He is the first of the kids to have a broken bone. (Is that an accomplishment?)

Day at the Lake

Saturday we went to our friends lake-house. Most of us spent our time trying to learn to water-ski, and we discovered it's harder than it looks!! Here's some pictures of the day.
Abigail is ready to go.
It was a beautiful day. The water was nice and warm.
Abigail skied the longest of all of us kids.
Jesse also got up for a while.
The day ended with a beautiful sunset.
(This picture should be on a jigsaw puzzle!)
