Yesterday, Abigail got her driver's permit! Several delays caused her to get a month after her birthday, but she is excited. If you have to drive around Birmingham, look out!! Here she comes!
(PS: Everyone has probably heard of the tornadoes that came through Alabama yesterday. For those worried about us, most of them were south of us, and so we were spared from damage.)

2 weeks of silence...
My worst nightmare!!! 2 weeks of no posts!! AAAAAHHHHH!!
I know ya'll will get over it. You have missed nothing. I mean it. Nothing. I can think of nothing to post. Nothing. Let me say that again. Nothing. Nothing. OK, everyone knows I'm stalling for time. Really, not much has been going on. It hasn't been boring, but we haven't done anything worth posting. We've been doing a lot of stuff outside because the weather has been so nice down here. Oh boy, now I know I'm in trouble. I'm reduced to talking about the weather.
I'll just post a random picture. This picture was taken some time last year...
I thought that one deserved to be on our blog.
OK, I guess I'll (finally) quite typing since there is nothing else to say. Nothing...

What's up around here
Well (do I always start my posts with "well"?), I feel like I should update this thing. There's not much to talk about. This is the first post on our blog done with Windows Vista. Really not much else to say. We're running on routine. Tonight we'll watch the last football game this season (sigh), the Pro Bowl. The way our football season ended was in defeat, as some people (that means you, Gibsons!) keep reminding us. Only about 200 more days until the 2007 NFL season starts! Until then we have our football video-game to play. We also have the Bulls. As I said in the previous post, they are playing well and we enjoy watching them. The way I write these posts makes it seem as if our entire life runs on sports! Not really. We enjoy sports a lot, but its not as bad as it sounds.
I'll post again when something interesting happens...

Oh Well...
As I'm sure everyone knows, the Bears lost. I don't really know what we would have done if they actually had won the Super Bowl - that's kind of hard for a Chicago fan even to imagine. But hey, you just wait until next year!! While we wait (as we have for 21 years), the Chicago Bulls are playing well!

Abigail's Birthday

Tango
I (Abigail) think that it is high time to introduce a new member of the family to the blog. But I will begin with a bit of an explanation. Many years ago, when Mama was in college, she "inherited" a couple of black Rat snakes from a friend of hers. She loved the snakes and kept them for many years. Apparently the genes were passed on because I have grown to love and admire snakes myself. So just this past January, Mama, Daddy and I went to a reptile show at UAB. A big group of reptile collectors and breeders had gathered there and I found what I was looking for: a two-year-old Corn snake!
And here he is!
Corn snakes are small, gentle, non-venomous snakes and Tango in particular is so tame that he cannot even eat live mice, but has to eat sterilized frozen white mice from a box!
This is his 'branch', it's really just a overpriced stick that we got from a pet store, but the store sold it as a 'section of sand-blasted California grape-vine'!

Post
Wow!! It's really been forever since we posted! I don't know why we haven't. Anyway, not much has been going on here, but things start up again tomorrow. Tomorrow is Abigail's birthday! I'll try to get pictures up here on Saturday because everyone knows I won't have time to do much Sunday! The Super Bowl pre-game show starts at 11:00 am central (the game starts at 5:30 I think). You can be sure we will see all of it!
Last Saturday, I (Jesse) had a piano competition. I had to play 15-20 minutes of memorized music (I played a Bach Prelude and Fugue, a Beethoven Sonata, a Creston Prelude, and a Chopin Polonaise). It was a big contest with students from all over the state. I was not one of the winners but I was able to play pretty well.
Anyway, I'll try to be more faithful in posting in the future...
