Blind football

This is a cute video of the boys playing football with their eyes closed! More importantly, it is a real video on the blog! Hopefully we'll be able to put up many more.

Jack and Christopher's birthday

Jack and Christopher will be turning 12 this Sunday! They chose to have the party on Friday, though, since that meant they would get a day off school!

Okay, I'm not quite sure what Jack is doing, but he seems to be blessing his gifts!

Now these were cool monster car cakes! The twins did it all themselves, Jack's cake is green, and Christopher's is red.

  Happy birthday, boys!

(We have a great video of the twins and their cakes, but I'll have to figure out how to use video before I can put it up!)

Cute picture

This is a picture of Zoe, the neighbors' cat. She has learned the trick of twisting her head away whenever she sees a camera, but I (Abigail)caught her off guard the other day and took this picture. Isn't she beautiful?"

Fall Festival

This past Saturday afternoon, we went to a Fall Festival. As you can tell from the pictures it was lots of fun, even though Jesse was at work that day, so he missed it and we missed him! Here are some pictures.

Jack is enjoying the pony rides!

Mama forgot to bring her favorite hat, so she substituted with a gift from the firefighters table!

Jack, Nathan and Chris enjoying Orange Creme sodas.

This is me trying to open my popcorn bag; Jack has already figured it out and looks very happy about it!

Nathan is playing one of the games.

This is Nathan, being cool at a friend's house on Thursday (Yes, I know this has nothing to do with the fair, but it's a cute picture, isn't it?)

Happy Birthday, Sam!

This past Wednesday was Sam's 14th birthday. Happy birthday, Sam!

Waking up the birthday boy!

Nathan certainly is fascinated by Sam's presents. Whose birthday is it anyway?

The kids all got together and ordered Sam a Chicago Bear's jersey, but our order was canceled so we had to order another one. The second one didn't get here in time, so we gave him a picture promising that it was on the way.
We don't have pictures of all the presents, but he also got a pair of football gloves from Mama and Daddy. Nearly all of his presents were football themed!

A football cake (naturally).

Happy birthday!

Alabama Adventure

This Saturday, as part of our before school celebration, we went to a near-by amusement park, Alabama Adventure. We bought the combo tickets, which are tickets to both the amusement park and the water park. We had a wonderful time! Here are some pictures. We didn't get any pictures of the water park for the sake of the camera!
This is Jesse and I (Abby) waiting for the Scrambler to start. We rode it three times!
This was an interesting little roller coaster, it whizzed around in a rather small circle, up and down. It wasn't very big, but the fact that the circle was so small made it thrilling, especially since, when the ride stops and you think it's over, it does the loops again... backward!
Daddy (In the stripped shirt) and the twins enjoy the ride.
Jesse and Sam's first real roller coaster (they were pretty nervous).

The triumphant return! Nice hair, boys!

This is the twins and Nathan on a smaller roller coaster.

This time I rode the big roller coaster, too!

This is a cool picture taken from the top of a sort of conveyor belt. It pulls the rafts up, then releases them into a little, man-made river and you ride through white water to the bottom.

Here we are starting the log flume ride.

The end of a long day!

Mother-daughter time (9 hours)!

Mama and I (Abigail) have been planning for a couple weeks to go see the new movie Stardust, and yesterday, we decided, would be a great day to go. We planned to go to the one o'clock showing, so we ate lunch a little early so that we could get there in time. We got the tickets, went in and sat through 35 minutes of pre-movie stuff (music, ads and trailers), before realizing that we had come in the wrong room; this wasn't the showing for Stardust, it was the showing for Hairspray, Stardust had already started in the adjoining room. We didn't want to miss the first 15 minutes, so we found the manager, told him what had happened and he traded in our tickets for tickets to a later showing. By then it was 1:40 and the new showing was at 4:00 so we had some time to kill. We had a few errands we were planning on doing after the movie, so we finished those, and at 3:00 went to a gas station to fill up and buy some sodas. For the first time since I got my license, I locked the keys in the car. Mama used the gas station phone to call triple A, then we stood in the gas station store for an hour waiting for the locksmith to come. By the time he got there and opened the car door, we were too late to make the 4:00 showing, but we were desperate by this time. We called Jesse at home and he told us that the next showing was at 7:00. We went back to the theater and traded the tickets in again, then tried to come up with creative ideas to kill 3 hours. We listened to the radio, visited an aquarium store, pet store and novelty store, then bought some drinks at Edgar's bakery and looked at bridal magazines until 6:45. Then we drove back to the theater, carefully entered the right room and settled back, telling ourselves that this had better be a fabulous movie! It was a great movie and it was the right one which made it even better! We keep telling each other that we're going to laugh about this experience some day, maybe when we're telling our grandchildren, but I hope some of you will be able to laugh about it now!
